So how was your day?

3.04.2006

So the wife's away for the weekend. . .
So Malach and the children are fending for themselves. So to show you just how awesome my life is, lets go through my day.

About 9:00Am, Malach is awoken by a phone call from the Angry Piper (wow, the kiddos slept late). Seems Twisty McNipples wants me to take some new candids of him for his blog, out in my back yard in the foot of snow we got the other day. Cool. Not to give away to much, he comes by, and we take the shots, should be up there soon.

Malach then answers his e-mail, messages, and such, including a Skype IM from some chick wanting to know if I am into rubber (the perils of the name Rubbersuitman). Malach sent her away disappointed. Also answered another email from someone looking for information on the city of New Bedford. I should get into real estate. Malach then felt mischeivous and started leaving Pixies songs on all his Myspace friends accounts, which eventually turned into a weird song war with Jenny. Malach also the writes another blog rant for Drunken Comic Reviews about the recent webcomic drama.

So then the kids and I had lunch, PB and J for the kids, and for the life of me, could not remember what I had, and went out to Wal Mart and Toys R Us. Malach bought some more Heroscape stuff (wow some cool new stuff coming out). Stopped by Malach's work, cause he left some of the Fat Bug panels there. Came home, played out in the snow for a while, watched Chicken Run, had dinner, a little cartoon network (favorite episode of Billy and Mandy . .. The Beauty Pageant) bathed them and put them to bed. How fuggin's cool am I.

In between I answered a few questions on Dear Malach, including this one from Twisted Darkness . . .
Dear Malach, Ever listen to the Pixies? My friends think they're either an emo band or a chick band.
My answer:
Your friends are idiots, the Pixies are the most important band of the last 15 years.

Are kids these day really that blinded to talent and innovative music? Which leads us too . . .

You are listening too . . .
Vamous, by the Pixies. I was gonna save the Pixies for a bit, but the stars are aligned, and here they are. If you have never heard the Pixies, you are in for a treat. Most of modern/alternative/underground of today music does not exist with out the Pixies. Along with Nirvana, REM, U2 and Sonic Youth, the Pixies and these band ushered in "alternative" to the mainstream, for good or bad. I am going to play some extensive Pixies in the next couple of weeks.

The Pixies are really the only band with local roots to make it big. Local you say? Malach is old enough to remember not only seeing the Pixies locally when they started, but partying with them. Black Francis's brother, even went to the same High School with me, though he is about 6 years younger than me.

It is hard to describe the Pixies musically, and when they were fresh, they were so amazingly different than much of the stuff out there. They took what they learned from the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Iggy and the Stooges, punk in general, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Pere Ubu, and on and on, and made this unique hyperactive avant garde poppy rock. AMAZING.

Stuff I stole from Spacefarmer.
You may be wondering what all the pics to the left are. Well it is stuff I stole from Spacefarmer. Read his blog. He finds the best stuff . . . . . by the way, I am just the messenger. And it all goes so well with the song. Oh and harass Choas Dragoon at his new blog too.

Updates.
Palmer sent me a new cartoon for Political Turmoil today, entitled Bush and India. Ah, that Palmer has such a fondness for the Dubya, I can still remember several years ago when him and I were branded traitors for being Anti-Bush.

Fat Bug. Well let see. I left a few of the panels at work . . . but they are all loaded in the computer now. I thought I would have loads of time to work on them, but alas no. Wanna see one? This one's on the right. A nice little promo for Fat Bug and Boy On A Stick and Slither . . . before all hell breaks loose. This one is not as long as the previous, so should be done by the middle of the week.

Malach's Quote of the Day.
I did not want to fuck my mother! You should have seen her in a housedress and a hairnet. This whole conversation would be over in two - Tony Soprano

I am Malach, and I am a gangster, and gangster of love!
