But first a word from our sponsor.
8 1/2 by Eleven updated with strip 515? (yeah I thinkg he is a bit off) after a short hiatus. Lucas apologizes, life has caught up to him, but he does say that it will be back on schedule after the 16th.

You are listening too . . .
Yellow Submarine, off of Revolver, by the Beatles. What a weird song, no? Very different from most Beatles song before this album. Again with the songs played previous, shows the range of styles off this album.

First, the song is the inspiration (well all the Beatles music) of animated film of the same name. It also features the first song that Ringo sang that became a hit. In some sort of strange fetish, Lennon and McCartney put together a song for Ringo to sing on almost every album, kind of like what Murk and I do for the Angry Piper on our podcasts. While no one ever admitted it was some kind of joke or not, Beatles fans did look forward to the somg, even though Ringo was not the most gifted singer. It also seem Ringo was too bright either, and perhaps it was some of the pity for a retarded brother type of syndrome.

First and foremost, the song has long been debated to be a drug reference song, specifically toward the hallucinogenic drug Nembutal, but this was vehemently denied by the band. McCartney specifically said it was him and Lennon's attempt at writing a children's song. The song was also released during the height of the "more popular than Jesus" controversy, hence it did not hit number one in the US, but is was their 21st gold single, beating the previous record of 20 held by Elvis.

The song is definietly a surreal psychedelic experiment, and a technically advanced song for the time it was released (1966). Extensive early "sampling" is in the song of various sounds. The Beatles at the time, were into John Cage, and much of the background noise in the noise of Abbey Road Studios, as well as intentional noises. In addition their are uncredited backing vocals in the song from Donovan, the song is such a jumble of noise none of the members completely remember what was what, including George Martin.

The song was definitely a departure for the Beatles a real lead in to later similar funny songs. This is also dedicated to my youngest who loves this songs and will listen to it over and over again (Daddy loved it too, can remember swinging and singing it).

The Mood of Red Sox Nation.
Yes it's back, now that season started, and today, well they lost, and I think Theo and the boys were right to see what Schilling had before they signed them for next year, cause frankly today, he looked awful. Suprised big Schill hasn't said anything yet. But can't get too down on the first game.

It's Angry Feggin' Piper Day!
Wish everyone a happy one over at the WoW.

They want to make the man a saint, even though he faked his death, and wanted to watch the Monkees all day long. Well, I supposed he also helped bring about the fall of the Western Bloc too.

Malach has the inside scoop.
Do you know why Mitt "Fuggin'" Romney is so good at raising funds? He sells babies into the child sex market. Speaking of presidential candidates, the President of Poland has some suggestions.

Sad Kermit.
This is also very disturbing. But also very funny. Thanks Angryman for the heads up.

Nice.
Perhaps this is the start of a change of attitude, Kudos SJC.

Interesting study.
Now, we need to see what they do with this information.

Hey, someone might agree with me.
This goes back to my Generation Y Debate. Speaking of that, I got a email about it from my Memere. She says, now I know what it is like to be in her shoes. Rock on Memere!

Malach's Quote of the Day

I am Malach and I told you it was Angry "Feggin'" Piper Day.

didn't I tell you in the past that is no good to be over clapping on your kid succes? lol well I didn't read this in a psycology book, I understood it from bible, cause there is a hard world out there and will kick your butt if you think you are the best lol because always there will be one better than you and me and of course there will always be someone lower, but people that are raised like this are unable to handle injustice and who said life is just?
