Interesting E-Mail.
I got an e-mail of the creator of the webcomic Masq. Very interesting thought process, best can be described as a "choose your own adventure" webcomic. I am in discussion right now to see if they will joy my little insane asylum. The creator wanted to know if he was classified as a webcomic, cause you me, I am expert. I said yes.
Quick review, first it is a bit mature. Overall, the drawing is clean, and the story, was fairly interesting. I do want to see where this goes.

Well, because Hep C is HIGHLY Contagious. 1000X, more contagious than HIV. Example. I I have Hep, and say I have a open wound on my hand, and then I open a door. The Hep in that blood on the handle stays active for hours, possibly days. So now Toyi comes in contact, and say, put her finger in her month or something like that, risk for infection. He puts here at high risk of becoming infected as well as any children they might have. I could understand if I contracted it and my wife wanted a divorce.
Tyler most likely got it for his drug use, and sharing needles, but he could have also gotten it from having sex.

Actually, your example has some flaws. Viruses, such as those that cause the most common forms of Hepatitis, inc. Hep A, B, and C, cannot live on a doorknob or toilet seat. They require living cellular function to survive. Most bloodborne viruses die within minutes of leaving the body. A pool of wet blood or open sore may contain miniscule amounts of virus but once the blood cells begin to break apart which is what happens when it is exposed to the elements, the virus is quicly killed. You would have to have exchange of viable fluids to transmit the Hep disease from one to another. That's the same as HIV...you can't get it from sharing a fork or even French kissing. Just some Doctorly knowledge at work.
Just repeat what I have heard from numerous EMT classes and working for years in disability services.
